Leader Couples for Florida ACME 2005 Conference
Workshops and Mini-Retreat
Cindy and Ross Alander. (C. "Family-of-Origin Dances")
The Alanders have been a part of ACME for nine years. They were married on a Sunday and went to an ACME mini-retreat on the following
Saturday! This is the second marriage for both and they have three children and four grandchildren. They have led workshops in their own MEG
and at the state conference. Cindy is an interior designer and Ross is a human resources consultant and teacher. They live in Tampa, Florida.
Jessica and Wade Arnold. (Mini-Retreat - "Learning the Basic Marriage Enrichment Dance
Steps")
Jessica and Wade Arnold have been married for nearly five years. She is an elementary teacher. Wade has been involved in counseling and the
ministry. He is currently in his fourth year in the Counseling Psychology doctoral program at the University of Florida. They took ACME
Leadership Training led by the Cooks in 2003. They live in Gainesville, Florida.
Jena and Richard Congdon. (A. "Dancing the Two-Step in
Communication")
Coming from previous marriages, Jena & Richard Congdon became aware of the need for
better communication and conflict resolution skills early in their marriage. They
participated in their first ACME retreat in 1986 and then stayed a part of that
MEG (Marriage Enrichment Group) for approximately five years. Their first
leadership training was with Dave and Sarah Catron in April, 1995 and they led
their first retreat in September, 1996. Jena & Richard are co-founders of the
"Mugs & Hugs Workshop Series", a very successful program for developing and
nurturing new MEGs in southeast Florida. They also served as President Elect
Couple of Florida ACME this past year. They live in Miami, Florida.
Ken and Martha Cook. (Leadership In-Service Training and
Sunday Optional Worship Service)
Ken and Martha Cook were married in 1956 and have four grown children and eight grandkids. They became involved in Marriage Enrichment
by attending the Georgia State ACME Conference in 1979. They are an ACME certified leader couple and certified trainer couple. They have led
numerous retreats, workshops, and leadership training events. They served on the leadership team in Georgia for several years and for the last seven
years have been involved in Florida ACME, serving on the leadership team and also as President Couple. Ken is a retired chaplain and Martha
retired from Social Security after 30 years. They live in Gainesville, Florida.
Sally and Tim Glisson. (B. "Being Married in Front of the Kids - Dances With
Wolves!")
The Glissons have been married for 11 years and a part of Marriage Enrichment since 1996. They are regular ACME conference attendees (this
is their ninth). They are the parents of two lively young sons. They have served as Florida ACME's Newsletter Couple for the last five years and
completed ACME Leadership Training with the Cooks in February. They live in Tampa, Florida.
Anna and Don Orr. (I. "Laughter in the Dance of
Marriage")
Anna and Don Orr have been married for five years. This is the second marriage for both. Don has two daughters. They have attended the
Florida ACME conferences for four years, are active in a Tampa MEG, and have been presenters in that MEG. Anna is a financial analyst and Don
is a sales representative. They live in Tampa, Florida.
Becky and Joe Reina. (F. "Tango Toward Each Other Instead
Away")
Becky and Joe Reina have been married for 13 years. They attended their first ACME state conference in 2000 and have continued to be involved
with ACME since then. In 2003 they co-chaired the Florida State Conference and were Conference Coordinators for the 2004 Florida State
Conference. They completed ACME Leadership Training under Ken and Martha Cook in February. They currently co-lead the North
Tampa/Clearwater MEG. They live in Lutz, Florida.
Bette and Bob Richter. (H. "Romance in Dancing")
Bette and Bob Richter have been actively involved in ACME as certified leaders for many years. Both are teachers and Bob is a Presbyterian
minister. In addition to Preparation for Marriage courses in their home, they have led many marriage enrichment week-end retreats and single-day
conferences. They have served as the President Couple of Florida ACME this past year. They live in Orange City, Florida.
Debbie & Will Rodgers. (E. "Dance of the Five Love
Languages")
Debbie and Will Rodgers have been married for 14 years. They have been active in Marriage Enrichment for nearly 12 years and led numerous
programs for their local MEG. They took ACME Leadership Training about two years ago and have since led a mini-retreat and started and led a
new MEG in Orlando. Debbie is a principal at a middle school and Will is retired. They have served as Secretary Couple for Florida ACME for the
last four years. They live in Tampa, Florida.
John and Maxine Roy. (G. "10 Dances to Make Your Marriage
Sing")
John and Maxine Roy have been married 40 years and active in marriage enrichment for five years. They have two adult sons and four
grandchildren. They have led programs in their local MEG in Tampa, led a mini-retreat, attended several state conferences and IMEC 2005, and took
ACME Leadership Training led by Ken and Martha Cook in Tampa in 2003. Maxine is an Elementary Media Specialist and John is a home
inspector and semi-retired. They live in Tampa, Florida.
Anne and Clyde Walker. (D. "You're Stepping on My Toes")
The Walkers have been married about 50 years and have two children and are grandparents. They are certified ACME leaders and have been
active in ACME for 18 years. They contributed to the development of the Florida state conference and the East Central Florida MEG. Anne is an
LPN and also holds a degree in Special Education and a Masters in Early Childhood Education. Clyde holds a doctorate in Psychology and
Counseling and is a licensed marriage and family therapist. He is semi-retired and works part-time in the counseling center at the Coronado
Community United Methodist Church. They live in New Smyrna, Florida.
